Golden Mile Singapore
Through a thoughtfully planned conservation process, the adaptive reuse strategies for The Golden Mile focus on restoring the retained historic fabric whilst managing change with deep sensitivity. To celebrate the distinctive architectural elements of this tropical megastructure - such as its iconic stepped form, characteristic atria, distinct oculus-shaped elements, facade bands, and localised mosaic tiled floors – these elements will be meticulously restored. The Golden Mile carefully integrates a new extension on top of the conserved building, offering additional workspaces. Introducing this new element to the historic building creates a dialogue between past and present, refreshing it for contemporary uses. Designed for continual relevance, The Golden Mile will not only remain a cultural and architectural landmark, but also a vibrant lifestyle hub for our community. It will house a wide spectrum of retail, F&B, medical units, collaborative workspaces, and a Community/Sports Facilities Scheme (CSFS) space intended to house an Architecture and Heritage Centre – where the past, present and future of Singapore will be showcased and celebrated.
Aurea, the new residential tower adjacent to The Golden Mile, has its name derived from the Latin word for "golden". It not only reflects Golden Mile Complex’s legacy in name, but also in its design language and spirit.
